Rougarou  is an immersive speakeasy and dining concept rooted in Southern Gothic folklore and the mystique of the Louisiana bayou. Drawing inspo from the eerie mood of Derek Walcott’s poem, it plays with the tension between the untamed and the refined, where fear, beauty, and mystery all coexist. I wanted to create something that feels like stepping into a myth; part speakeasy, part story, layered with meaning and mood.

My approach was to blend rustic grit with quiet sophistication. Earthy tones, hand drawn imagery, and subtle type choices build a vibe that feels both grounded and otherworldly. Everything was designed to pull you deeper, not just into a space, but into a feeling. It's meant to be immersive, cinematic, and a little unsettling.
