Corporate Rebrand
Coleman is an American outdoor staple gear that’s been an essential for campfires, road trips and backyard gatherings since the early 1900s. This rebrand is a nod to that legacy. It’s built to feel familiar, but revamped for a new era of pioneers.
The goal was to create something that felt both heritage and forward-facing. I revived the iconic crest shape, customized a bold type treatment rooted in vintage utility, and brought back the sunburst motif from their 1930s mark to give the brand a sense of pride in its heritage. Every element was chosen to promote trust, durability, and a bold confidence that only comes with time spent outdoors.

Redesign Thoughts: Logo Crest
Upon examining the current logo for redesign, my intitial response was that it could use some tweaks in certain aspects but generally I'd like to respect its roots, having been a brand for over 100 years. Separating the lantern from the crest and utilizing it as a secondary logo was the base decision that was made.

Secondary Logo:
Creating a smooth vector based design to showcase the lantern was an obvious choice for me. I used the sun as inspiration from an original logo to symbolize the flame that lit the lanterns of outdoor pioneers in the early 1900's. An intentional nod to the brands heritage and the spirit of the great outdoors.
